easy 'buttercream' frosting

Easy 'butter cream' frosting

A quick and simple way to make frosting for cakes and cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Butter or vegetable shortening...or a mix of the two
  • 4-6 Cups Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla
  • Pinch of Salt
  • 1-4 Tablespoons of Milk or water...or even cream

Instructions

  1. Cream butter in the stand mixer and add powdered sugar a cup at a time, until very thick and lump free.
  2. Then mix in a pinch of salt and the vanilla.
  3. Additionally add one tablespoon of liquid (milk, water or cream) at a time until desired consistency.
  4. Lastly whip on medium or high speed for an additional minute or until desired consistency is reached.
