Blackberry Pie is one of the more wonderful things in life. And ever since my mother-in-law was generous enough to share this gem of a recipe with me there has been no looking back!

Blackberry Pie is one of the more wonderful things in life. And ever since my mother-in-law was generous enough to share this gem of a recipe with me there has been no looking back!

This is another gem of a recipe from my mother-in-laws collection. It is so comforting, creamy and delicious. Come cooler months it is on constant rotation and definitely my kids favourite soup!!

So I had this idea. Make a Sugar Cookie House. And it turned out fairly darn well I must admit. You see our kids love decorating and building gingerbread houses. Generally this is an activity the cousins like to get together and do which makes it even more fun. Continue reading Sugar Cookie House

These are the most chocolate of chocolate cookies. They are amazing! Definitely a special treat. They take a ridiculous amount of chocolate and turn it into a decadent cookie. Continue reading Laura’s Triple Chocolate Cookies

We are always looking for small changes we can implement into our routines to make better, greener choices. So when I first picked up one of these Peggalish Bamboo Travel Cups I was sold by how lightweight it was. Meaning I could keep it in bag and not really notice the added bulk. Then I tried it out and was delighted with the warmth of the cup and lack of taste transfer to my beverage. I generally hate the plastic or metal taste given off by traditional travel mugs. Oyster art. Because maybe you are like us and like to bring a little of the beach home with you. Maybe you are like my self and use discernment for a special little piece of sea glass here or there. Or perhaps you are more like my youngest and it’s as much as your pockets can hold (and those of your fellow beach goers that you enlist to carry even more). Either way we like to have a summer project when our two families get together with the cousins for a week in the summer. This year it was in Powell River and we found a beach in our travels covered with the most interesting leftovers of oyster shells and inspiration hit.
