I realize the Internet has no shortage of macaroni and cheese recipes, but well, mine is the best! Well at least according my family. Who can be decidedly picky and unafraid to speak honestly. I know it’s a tall claim. But I have been making this mac and cheese for years, and for at least the last decade, without a recipe. Just by eye ball. I have made my macaroni and cheese hundreds of times and somehow it is still my number one comfort food. Or play date lunch go to. And I think that says something. That it is worth sharing, for no other reason than for my kids to have a version to consult when making their mom’s homemade Mac and Cheese.
Gingerbread row houses are so simple, making them terrific for little hands and family group projects! I can’t really help wondering how I didn’t try the idea out sooner. Why go to the headache of making it 3D when all kids care about is the decorating and copious amounts of candy?!
Sometimes inspiration gets a little nudge. Like with these acorn sugar cookies. It so happens that #NationalCookieDay and #NationalPumpkinSpiceDay coincide this year. It’s a rather happy coincidence. And around here it resulted in a delightful cookie that celebrates fall. Which is a great way to welcome autumn with a sweet treat!
Tis the season for delightful blackberries. We have gone a little crazy for blackberries this year! Wonderful, juicy blackberries that make endless delicious treats and yumminess. And this year’s crop has been especially good! So I felt it a great chance to share a round up of all our favourite, delightful blackberry recipes. Some new, some old and all tried and true and on repeat around here.
These cute, little mini popsicle cupcakes were a perfectly sweet answer for my youngest’s first solo decorating project. They were also quite the hit for her class treats!
In the category of easy peasy treats this one takes the cake – the cupcake, to be exact! Ice cream cone cupcakes are a summertime easy, breezy and fun way to take a simple cupcake to a show stopper!
A simple and delicious blackberry jam. This is a delightfully old fashioned blackberry jam recipe that yields terrific results. It is so good. So good in fact, that I made 3 batches in 2 days! And with some help, we polished off two jars in a week.
Homemade Orange Julius is a favourite warm weather treat around here. This is our go to summer drink and we love, love, love it!! In fact we have all come to like it even more than the real thing!
It only took us nine years! Yes, it has only taken us nine short years to get a shade up on the irregularly sized window in the kitchen, above the sink. Finally after never quite finding what I wanted anywhere, we just went ahead and made our own d.i.y. roman shade. I don’t know what took us so long, because it turned out GREAT and cost us less than $20.
