Quick Lemonade For One

Easy, peasy lemonade! Make a quick, refreshing glass of lemonade without the need of a simple syrup. My youngest loves lemonade. Especially on a hot day. But I rarely have simple syrup on hand. So rather than create a grainy glass of lemonade or a whole jug, and a sore hand from squeezing lemons. I have found an easy way to just whip up a single serving in glass.

A Single Glass of Lemonade

And since a single serving only uses half a lemon, I can simply use the whole lemon and make two glasses side by side to share.

Also this recipe is simple enough that even my youngest can make it herself.

Lemonade Ingredients

Juice of Half a Lemon
2 Tablespoons Granulated Sugar (heaped if sweeter is your preference)
1/3 Cup of Boiling Water
1 -2 Cups of Ice
Fresh Mint – optional

Directions

Squeeze the juice of half a lemon into a glass.
Add 1/3 of a cup of boiling water.
Stir in 2 heaping tablespoons of granulated sugar (or to your preference). Make sure to add it directly to the hot water and stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
Now simply fill up the remainder of the glass with ice and stir.
The hot water will melt some of the ice creating your drink and the remainder will chill it.
Drink or serve immediately.
Optional to add a sprig of fresh mint to serve.
