The many colours available in Wilton Candy Melts (melting wafers) makes for endless and easy options. For a more mature taste you could actually melt white or dark chocolate for coating the marshmallows. But the fun colours are half the appeal for my kids. Plus the candy melts make it so there are no extra time or effort required to temper chocolate. It also means the kids can melt them themselves in the microwave without anything being too finicky.

The variations are as many as you can think of of course. But the classic fishy cracker fish in a fish bowl or ocean setting is a sure fire hit. Making it perfect back yard or pool party fare. Sticking a paper straw (full length or cut in half) or lollipop stick into the marshmallows first makes for ease of dipping as well as eating and presentation.

Graham cracker crumbs, nerds, sprinkles or coloured sugar all make a great bottom edge to mimic a fish bowl or ocean floor. Or simply leave it plain. Make sure to dip the marshmallows in the melted blue candy and then add the fish on while still wet as well as any graham cracker crumbs or candies before allowing to set up on parchment or waxed paper. Fish bubbles can be piped on after if desired.
